ENGIE to expand wind farm with Red Sea Wind Energy consortium in Ras Ghareb, Egypt

Developed by the Red Sea Wind Energy Consortium, which includes ENGIE, Orascom Construction, Toyota Tsusho, and Eurus Energy, this project is the largest in Africa.
The expansion includes a new agreement with the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company to secure revenue for 25 years. The wind farm will help Egypt achieve its goal of 42 percent renewable energy by 2030, reducing CO₂ emissions by 1.3 million tonnes annually and providing clean energy to over 1 million homes.
The full project is set to be operational by late 2025.
